Things I've Come To Learn

With pregnancy comes certain things.
Things that are not so fun.
Like stretch marks,
heartburn,
bloating,
and swelling.

At least these are the main culprits in my pregnancy.

And I've searched and searched for relief.
Only to find that many things don't work.
Searching the internet is a little ridiculous because everyone and every site has their opinion.

I mean I don't know about ya'll,
but I'm not about to hang upside down and drink hot milk in order to get rid of my heartburn.

Therefore,
I'm writing you all to let you know what actually works for me.

It took some trial and error but here are some helpful tips.

Stretch Marks:
(Probably the worst thing ever!)
I've been using Palmers Cocoa Butter,
but this only works so much.
I've dealt with these in the past and the best thing that worked for me was Vitamin E.
I went to the store and bought the liquid gel vitamin E capsules,
opened the capsules,
and rubbed the liquid into the stretch marks.
Surprisingly between that, Palmers Cocoa Butter and getting an old fashioned tan,
they faded away and you can barely notice them.

Bloating:
Bloating has been an issue lately in the last few months with this pregnancy.
Honestly nothing really helped, other than...
Bananas
I eat a banana a day basically.
That and coconut water has really helped too.

Heartburn:
(the worst)
I eat tums like they are candy.
And this normally always helps.
Tums are a great calcium supplement too!
But I also found that staying away from anything citrus helped cut it down too.
So no tomatoes, no orange juice, and also I try not drink any sodas anymore.
Carbonated anything gives me heartburn.

Swelling:
Again Bananas have been the most amazing thing for me.
But also berries, green or red peppers, melons, and potatoes.
I also heard that wheatgerm and sunflower seeds are supposed to help,
but I haven't tried these yet.

Now again...
these are just the things that have helped me.
Hopefully they help some of you too!

  2. Umm, I'm pinning this! My husband and I are in serious baby making talks these days, and I am panicking about all the horrible things I've heard can happen. I'll take any and all advice I can get for when that day comes!

  3. I have to agree with this advice, I don't have the heart burn but everything else.... gohhhh!!
The heat really doesn't help and the only thing I can suggest is actually laying on the floor with your feet on the sofa - the best relief I have found! I have had trouble with my hips so can't stay like this for long, but I try a few times a day.

    Good luck!!
