Ever feel down,
depressed,
anxious,
or just stressed out?!
How about every other day?!
Working,
chasing around an 8 month old,
cooking dinner,
cleaning the house,
and trying to get to the gym all in one day,
can make you a little cookoo!
But as I was on the elliptical tonight,
I had a realization.
I feel so much better after a workout!
No matter how crazy my day was,
how stressed I was,
or how many times my son screamed and threw a fit.
A workout does not only my body good,
but my mind as well!
Here's why peeps!
Working out releases endorphins.
And endorphins release positive feelings in our brains and our bodies.
These chemicals running through our body,
have the same effects as the drug morphine!
Thats why you hear people say things like,
runners high and nonsense like that.
But also there are foods that you can eat to fight off those negative feelings as well!
1.Fish
2. Cacao
(not your hershey kisses ladies)
3. Quinoa
4. Walnuts
5. Green Tea
Also any foods high in B vitamins help!
B vitamins increase brain function so the chemical serotonin be produced!
So there you have it ya'll!
Feeling down,
or feeling like you want to scream?
Get out and get moving!
I have to admit I feel coocoo on more than one occasion with a 9mo old, cleaning, working, and all that regular day to day stuff ... I have NO energy to go to the gym although I probably should. How do you do it? When did you start? And how/what keeps you going?
ReplyDeleteI feel ya! I had no energy either, but I realized once I started working out a few times a week, even when I didn't want to, my energy level increased. I don't go every day! I go when it works for me. I aim for 4 times a week, but if I get three I'm happy. I started doing this a few months ago because I was exhausted, and didn't like my mood at the end of the day. I've been doing a TON of research over the last few months and I honestly can say I'm hooked. What keeps me going is how I feel now. I used to be cranky, tired, stressed out and I looked it (bags under the eyes, skin wasn't as good as it could be, etc). But after researching what would make me feel better and look better I was hooked! I know it seems crazy but I swear once you get into a routine of trying to workout a few times a week, you'll feel better! Good Look!
