Me and DIY Don't Mix

I don't know how many times I've found a DIY project that I really want to do,

attempt it,

and it turn into a complete fail.

All my christmas crafts...

complete fails.

Home decor....

Looked like a 2 year old did it.

So you can imagine how excited I was when one actually turned out pretty good.

Here is the before:

This thing was sitting in my parents house and they were just about to chunk it.

I decided...

Hey I need a new bar that my son can't get into...

This just might work.

Might.

So I sanded down that god awful paint design...

I mean it may be great to others,

just not our taste at all.

And I decided to paint it a pop of color.

You know,

add a little zing and pep to our house.

Then I changed the hardware.

And this is the after. 

Not bad huh?

Well I found it my own personal DIY victory.

And friends...

That just doesn't happen very often.
