My Favorite Love Story

 This photo was taken at my parents highschool homecoming.

And yes, they are both going to the dance with other people.

And yes these two people standing directly beside eachother,

have no clue,

that one day they will meet again.

And when they do,

they will fall head over heels for eachother,

get married,

have 3 kiddos together,

and live happily ever after.

You couldn't have told them this then.

My parents went to the same highschool,

dated eachothers friends,

traveled in the same crowds,

but never once hung out alone together.

My mother was dating my father's best friend all of highschool.

And my dad,

well, he was dating all my mom's friends.

They graduated highschool,

 and went their seperate ways.

Years and Years later,

a wedding of a mutual friend would bring them back together.

My mother,

who just recently ended her first marriage,

was on the prowl.

HA!

At least that's how I like to think about it.

And my father,

well he just couldn't resist my mother's charm.

So he asked her out.

And after dating for a short 8 weeks...

popped the question.

8 WEEKS PEOPLE!

Crazy I know.

But now these two love birds

have been married for 27 years,

and are still madly in love.

I bet those two higschool kids in the picture above,

would have laughed in your face if you would have told them that this is how it all would have turned out.

Funny how the world works!
