This Time Last Year

This time last year,

I was on a trip with my girlfriends in New Orleans.

When I was talking to my good friend Katie about our lives.

I told her how I felt like I was just drifting through the world,

and really had no idea what I was doing.

I felt lost and knew I needed to cut certain people out of my life for good,

in order to be my true happiest self.

Can you tell this was girl talk,

after a grey goose martini or two?

The bartender who was around her mid 40's

approached us.

And said to me something, that then, seemed so crazy.

She said

"Honey this time next year,

you will be in a completely different place,

and those individuals that are bringing you down...

Well honey,

you won't even remember their phone numbers.

You just have to trust in God"

And surprisingly...

She was right.

I am in such a better place in my life than I was last year.

I made the changes I needed to,

and God put the right people in my life.

Not to mention giving me the most amazing gift...

my son!
